During this rotation, pharmacy interns work on clinical research, writing, reviewing, and editing for various communications for Medical Affairs. Interns will have the opportunity to sharpen their clinical communication skill! s by conducting exhaustive literature searches, performing critical analyses and evaluating literature in order to prepare well-developed, comprehensive, unbiased, and accurately referenced documents. This rotation requires interns to have a strong acumen for clinical literature search techniques and evaluation skills. Interns may participate in and attend various clinical/editorial meetings. During the internship, interns may be required to present a journal article to a clinical audience. Interns will also prepare Power Point handouts and present on a pharmacy-related topic of their choosing. Interns will work on multiple projects concurrently. Therefore, they are expected to demonstrate excellent time-management techniques to achieve project deadlines. Interns are expected to be productive and professional while managing their projects in a corporate work environment whereby, many network-associates work different hours, in different time zones, or are working from a sat! ellite location in another building site, city, or state.

conducting exhaustive literature searches
performing critical analyses in order to ‘break-down clinical trials
evaluating clinical literature for project selection-appropriateness
preparing well-developed, comprehensive, unbiased, and accurately referenced documents
fine tuning their Health Literacy skills
mastering the use of Reference Manager
presenting a PMB-relevant article to a clinical audience
creating a Power Point Presentation
attending various inter-departmental meeting
participating in 1:1 shadowing! experiences with other PBM pharmacists
Currently enrolled in accredited Collge of Pharmacy. Must have completed 2nd year of pharmacy program.
Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program (approximately 10 weeks)
Have strong leadership and communication skills and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team, as demonstrated with involvement in extracurricular activities
Have local housing for length of Summer Intern Program
Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Bachelor's Science Pharmacy program.
Must have completed 2nd year of pharmacy program.
