Summary
Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies according to established procedures for professional pharmacy practice. Reviews prescriptions, obtains clarifications, monitors drug usage and works with other hospital staff members to improve the quality of care provided by PSJH Pharmacy. Reduces costs, optimizes drug therapy and educates other health professionals about drug and pharmacotherapy. In addition, the Clinical Staff Pharmacist works as consultants to the medical team in matters related to daily patient care in hospitals, nursing homes, and other health care facilities! .
Education and/or Experience
PharmD from an accredite! d college or school of pharmacy required; or B.S. in Pharmacy and 2-3 years of equivalent experience.
Previous experience in an inpatient or outpatient pharmacy, or completion of a pharmacy residency to be well versed in current literature and clinical procedures/knowledge to meet established competencies.
