Position Description:
The Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Director of Pharmacy will be responsible for the efficient operation and management of the 24 hour hospital pharmacy. The Director establishes standards of quality, customer service, productivity, safety and performance. In addition, the Director will plan, organize and implement hospital pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with established policies of the health system, work in partnership with other departments within the health system and in accordance with accepted standards of good pharmacy practice.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assures operational effectiveness and efficiency. Investigates and recommends process changes when appropriate.
2. Prepares and manages the Pharmacy budget.
3. Establishes efficient methods of drug distribution and control.
4. Assures quality assurance, compliance and adverse drug reporting ! is achieved.
5. Motivates and leads departmental staff to ! achieve high customer satisfaction.
6. Assures the Pharmacy demonstrates the PRIDE (Partnership, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Excellence) values in all patient and staff interactions.
Requirements:
Current Illinois Registered Pharmacist
Pharm D preferred
Five years of pharmacy leadership experience required.
