Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions.
May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department.
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
May lead and direct the work of others.
Typically reports to a manager or supervisor.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.
Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting Pharmaceutical Products (e.g. CFR 210/211, cGMP) specifically.
Minimum 2 years work experience in a prescriber office, patient support line, pharmacy, reimbur! sement arena, healthcare call center, or pharmaceutical indust! ry required.
Knowledge of private payers, Medicare, Medicaid, alternate funding resources, and reimbursement processes.
Knowledge of benefit verification and prior authorization processes.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal skills, customer service skills, and professional demeanor.
Strong problem resolution skills.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet associated timelines.
Describe the primary accountabilities of the position and the impact of actions.
Responsible for all office communication, issue resolution, and service-level satisfaction for assigned prescribers.
Primary liaison between MDO and Pharmacy Solutions staff and/or management.
