Job Description:
The Senior Clinical Consultant will utilize his/her therapeutic knowledge and expertise of peritoneal dialysis therapies to contribute to the development of new renal products for the global market, including Europe, Korea and China. This position will work collaboratively with the Medical Director in the Renal Therapeutic Expertise Group and be a key member of product design team. This position will be based in Deerfield, IL. Specific responsibilities include the following:
Provide clinical input into product development projects to include, but not limited to product design, regulatory submission, therapy risk assessment, simulation testing, literature review, label and training material development.
Collaborate and support cross functional work in the areas of Regulatory, Marketing, Contain! er Engineering, Solution Pharmaceutical Development, Toxicolog! y, Quality and Human Factors.
Ensure actions are in compliance with Baxter policies and procedures, Regulatory (Health Authority) requirements and guidelines (egg US Code of Federal Regulations, EU, and ITCH guidelines) and in support of global business objectives.
Contribute to projects in the role of team member or team leader as dictated by project need.
Function as the clinical therapy “expert†either directly or through soliciting input from other resources internal or external to Baxter. External resources may require contract approval and maintenance.
Recognize, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders.
Utilize analytical and problem solving skills to assess issues, identify corrective actions and monitor effectiveness.
Utilize project management skills to facilitate and/or lead assigned initiatives to accomplish high quality deliverables within established timelines.
Disp! lays skills necessary for proper management and leadership of nursing team within the Renal Therapeutics group.
Job Requirements:
Strong clinical background in renal replacement therapies, with an emphasis on peritoneal dialysis.
Capable of handling (assimilating) in-depth technical information from a variety of disciplines in order to be effective in this position.
Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
Oriented to Quality Systems, conceptually as well as demonstrated practices.
Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to manage conflict situations. Ability to maintain effectiveness under changing circumstances and priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills required.
. Able to thoroughly document assessments and recommendations. Can move easily between meticulous attention to detail and “big pictureâ€.
Comfortable working on projects with heighten! ed visibility.
Has a track record of delivering on commitments.
Minimum 3 years experience in renal replacement therapies, peritoneal dialysis and HomeChoice experience required.
A knowledge base of Baxter Renal products is strongly preferred.
Product Development and/or clinical research experience a plus.
