Description: Adventist Midwest Health is hiring PHARMACY TECH, Casual, Variable Hours/Days right now, this position will be presented in Illinois. Performs pharmaceutical distributive functions to assist in the caring for patients in a professional manner. Assists in the training of new emplo! yees. May assist in the selection of technical staff. Assists pharmacists in the preparation of medications by performing routine and technical aspects of prescription processing. Serves as an assistant to the pharmacist in all mechanical phases of hospital pharmacy operations. Works under pharmacist s supervision. Fills/refills Automatic Dispensing Machine/ADM (Pyxis) as necessary. Checks medications for outdates as assigned. Position carries responsibility for other members of the healthcare team. This individual will often coordinate his/her work to meet the ever-changing needs of the department/hospital. He/she has the expressed authority to carry out the duties as defined in the job description.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Vocational/specialized training preferred.
·
Current
State
of
Illinois
pharmacy technician license in good standi! ng.
·
Minimum pharmacy technician experienc! e of 1â€"2 years preferred.
·
Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
·
Successful completion of pharmacy technician certification exam preferred.
·
Successful completion of hospital mathematics competency exam.
·
Clerical/administrative skills.
·
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
·
Ability to use various instruments and operate equipment that may be necessary to perform job duties.
