Job Description:
The Clinical Coordinator within the Department of Pharmaceutical Services will be responsible the implementation and management of a pharmaceut! ical care model for the Hospitals. This individual is responsi! ble for coordinating the clinical development of the department, including the training of pharmacists clinically and implementation of new clinical programs. As a clinical pharmacy leader within the department, the individual will be able to identify training and clinical service opportunities and to work with other managers and staff within the Department, as well as key individuals (such as physicians and nurses) within the organization to facilitate the accomplishments of these goals. Appreciation of the role of the pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical care is key to the goals of the Department and the individual will promote and support the training and utilization of the pharmacist in this role. The Mission Statement of the Department identifies the primary responsibility of the pharmacist as providing each patient with superior pharmaceutical care and innovative drug therapy in a cost conscious manner. Qualifications for this individual include a Pharm.D. de! gree with residency or equivalent experience. Board certification in a pharmaceutical specialty is preferred. The individual must show a creative approach to problem resolution and personnel management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Completion of an ASHP general, specialty or administrative residency is highly preferred
- Registered in the State of Illinois as a Pharmacist (or eligible)
- demonstrated proficiency in providing clinical services
- previous experience with staff training
- previous experience with project management
- demonstrated knowledge of personal computers
- experience with word processing, spread sheet and data base management programs required.
