GENERAL SUMMARY
:
Reporting to the Nutritional Support Supervisor, and following established procedures, assists Pharmacists ! in processÂing physician orders for tube and total parenteral nutrition feedings.
In doing so manufactures feedings using compound mixer, computer, hand tools and the like.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
:
1.
Ability to read and write in order to review and update patient profiles, understand and follow written and verbal instructions in order to mix solutions and prepare feedings and perform basic arithmetic calculations at a level normally acquired through compleÂtion of high school. Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology helpful.
2.
Approximately three months on the job experience necessary in order to learn preparaÂtion of tube and TPN feedings, packaging methods, and unit policies, procedures and work rules.
3.
Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with various

Must be eligi! ble for pharmacy technician licensure in State of
Illinois

5.
Must possess current state license as a Pharmacy Tech.
6.
Must have successfully passed national certification and maintains active status.
