Location: Downers Grove Illinois

Description: Midwestern University is currently interviewing RN - Family Practice Clinic - .8FTE right now, this career will be placed in Illinois. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Nursing patient care: · Triage new patient appointments based on the scope of the clinic’s practice. · Obtain consults, diagnostic tests, labs, and other reports prior to the patient’s visit. · Maintain proper patient visits length and room turnover, working with doctors and students. · Set up for procedures, assist physicians, pharmacist and students. · Provide injections, BP screening, diabetic education, blood draws, immunizations, urine analysis etc. Independe! ntly. · Answer patient’s questions and concerns, direct pat! ients to appropriate medical personnel based upon physicians plan. · Refill medications approved by the physician. Collaboration: · Work with PAR’s to facilitate patient flow, and revisit appointments. · Work with Manager of Patient Accounts, to make sure patients concerns are addressed. · Work with Credentialing Coordinator, as necessary. · Work with Clinical Pharmacist in providing patient care. · Work with clinic Physicians in providing patient care. · Work with, train and mentor LPN’s, in appropriate clinic function and patient care. · Participate in monthly phone meetings, and operations meetings · Work with CCOM / Sr. Admin. Asst. (Barb Williams) in scheduling student rotations, shadowing experiences, vacations and absences. Day to day clinic: · Maintain office supplies, procedural supplies, patient rooms, and conference room. · Become proficient with electronic patient database, EHR, phones, fax and copying. · Maintain general neatness and presentatio! n of the Family Medicine area. Other duties: · Direct / assign medical students to the appropriate patients. · Notify patients if the clinic is closed, or canceled after business hours. · Submit check requests and tech requests as needed. · Other duties as assigned

Education and! /or Experience Associate’s degree is required; BSN degree is preferred. Also 3-5 years of outpatient primary care experience is required.

Computer Skills Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
