POSITION SUMMARY:
Is collaboration with the Director, has twenty-four hour responsibility for all aspects of pharmacy ope! rations.
Assists the Director in the scheduling of pharmacists and technicians, oversees workflow and medication use processes, provides training and orientation to new and existing staff, and monitors all aspects of departmental performance.
Oversees various systems within the department and validates their utilization to ensure that all staff are proficient and accurate in their deployment.
The Pharmacy Manager serves as a medication consultant to colleagues.
The Pharmacy Manager assists the Director in planning and budgeting for the department for both the capital budget and the operational budget.
The Pharmacy Manager helps to oversee staff development and promote new initiatives that expand the scope of pharmacy practice.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
B.S. in Pharmacy
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Pharm.D. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency training program
Minimum Experience:
! Three to five years of prior experience as a clinical staff ph! armacist
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Previous supervisory experience
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
Illinois
Pharmacist Licensure
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Requires knowledge of pharmacy practice.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills related to the age and abilities of patients served.
Must possess an operational knowledge of information systems that are deployed within the department.
