Job Type: Full Time Position Summary:
The Manager of the CVS Caremark Clinical Program! Oversight (CPO) Department in Clinical Affairs is responsible for managing the strategy and vision of all external oversight processes to support CVS Caremark's Utilization Management and Clinical Intervention programs. The Manager will coordinate and supervise the structure of all current projects in addition to ensuring that all goals are delivered within appropriate timelines and in a fiscally responsible manner as well as setting the vision for the future of and continuous improvements of these projects. The Manager will manage the CPO Department staff of clinical pharmacists. The Manager will also participate in the preparation of audits to support the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Medicare Part D regulatory requirements for Medicare Part D, URAC/NCQA requirements, and serve as a liaision between the other departments (e.g., Corporate Quality, Appeals) and Committees (e.g., CVS Caremark National Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Pharmacy & Therapeutic! s Utilization Management SubCommittee, etc.) regarding clinica! l oversight issues by communicating timely and relevant clinical information, assisting the Vice President of Clinical Affairs, collaborating with internal and external customers to articulate desired results as well as identifying and defining incremental steps to achievement of business and financial targets. Required Qualifications:
5+ years of strong clinical knowledge including evidence-based medicine literature evaluation skills and knowledge of clinical guidelines. Experience leading and managing a team. Experience in healthcare setting (i.e., physician, payor, manufacturer, managed care and/or health plans). and prior management experience. Ability to speak, read, and communicate effectively. Must be able to handle high stress deadlines. Must be able to be discrete about personal and financial information. Extremely strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively cross-functionally with all levels. Must be able to work independentl! y and exercise sound judgment. The ability to initiate and manage projects and consistently deliver on-time, measurable results is imperative. Must be able to assess and analyze data and articulate issues and recommendations to management. Position requires the ability to understand business goals and objectives and to motivate others to strive to overachieve. Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee processes, clinical program processes and accreditation requirements (e.g., URAC, NCQA, CMS). Strong project management skills. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Detail oriented, strong multi-tasking, organizational, planning and prioritization skills. Good follow-up skills are a necessity. Proactive and creative thinker who is willing to contribute ideas, with a positive attitude. Proofread documents for accuracy, spelling, grammar, and content. Must be able to pay strict attention to detail, remain foc! used, and work in situations involving multiple interruptions. Will pos! sess excellent organizational skills, the ability to prioritize and multi-task under minimal supervision, exhibit confidence, and a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Must have demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, moving from concept to action plans within defined time frames. Must have previous experience in documenting procedures and action steps and effectively communicating goals and educating/training work teams to achieve results. Experience evaluating processes and work flow and developing creative and effective action plans to develop employees and improve team performance required. Must have proven ability to work in a collaborative environment and influence others within the organization and cross functionally, within and outside of the Clinical Affairs Department. Pharmacotherapy Board Certification preferred Education:
Requires a bachelor of pharmacy degree (Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred). Business Overview:
