The Sr. Analytic Advisor is responsible for developing innovative analytic solutions and providing insightful analytics support to population based health activities in a healthcare, Prescri! ption Benefit Management setting. The Sr. Analytic Advisor will efficiently extract and manipulate pharmacy claim data for internal and external clients. This person will collaborate with the clinical account management team to support the analytic needs of clients. This position will be responsible for ad-hoc and standard reporting, designing and executing advanced PBM analytics, conducting and evaluating trend analyses, and presenting clinical and financial opportunities based on analytic insights to clients. The person will use logic and analytic skills to perform client analyses in response to specific business questions and be able to communicate the findings, including methodology and outcomes. It is preferred that the candidate has working experience in analytics projects utilizing pharmacy claims data. Medical claims data a plus.
Client ad hoc analytics and reporting including the development and maintenance of clinical client reports that contain insightful, ac! tion-oriented information. Responsible for clinical report dev! elopment and presentation of key findings and cost/utilization drivers including identification of actionable insights related to Catamaran's value in terms of clinical quality, cost outcomes and patient safety.
Anticipate, design, and measure solutions to facilitate the business and clinical needs of the organization including qualitative and quantitative reporting and analysis. Benchmark, report, and analyze pharmacy costs including clinical programs changes to drug costs, rebates and net drug spend. Evaluate the financial and member impact of benefit design changes and formulary modifications. Perform generic utilization forecasting and brand drug pipeline evaluation. Evaluation and reporting of clinical program outcomes.
Support of prospective client reporting and analytics including plan design analysis, formulary analysis, generic utilization forecasting, clinical program savings evaluation. Serve as liaison to internal partners and vendors to develo! p and evaluate reports related to clinical decision-making, reliability, validity and productivity.
Maintain and refine existing reports, analytical models, and database queries as appropriate. Validation of source data and interpretation of report results. Interface with IT Department regarding the business needs.
Serve as liaison to internal partners and vendors to develop and evaluate reports and report methodology/logic related to clinical decision-making, reliability, validity and productivity. Support and maintain documentation and training for clinical report library.
Evaluation of industry and medical/pharmacy literature to assess and report on drug utilization trends and emerging trends in the PBM industry. Application of the utilization trends to client specific data to provide recommendations and prescriptive solutions to manage overall spend.
Provides oversight and guidance in the resolution of complex reporting and analytics ! issues utilizing available resources and expertise in support of report! ing and analytic objectives.
Ensure integrity, accuracy and timelines of reporting and analysis. Develop documents that explain methodologies in evaluating healthcare expenditures and trends.
Interface and serve as liaison with Product Development team to provide analytical insights applicable to current program management as well as future program development.
Performance of duties as required by supervisor
Required:
Bachelor's degree in clinical sciences, pharmacy or quantitative based field required; Master's degree (such as: Statistics, Mathematics, Pharmacy, Public Health, Decision Science) preferred.
7 years of relevant work experience with Pharmacy Benefits Management analytical experience (pharmacy / healthcare analytics and reporting); PBM Managed Care Organization experience preferred. Medical claims analysis experience preferred.
Proven quantitative experience and ownership of projects
Expert in using analytic! software programs, including hands on ability to code in either SAS or SQL, and expert in MS Office tools including Excel, Access, Word, Visio and Power Point.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed, including the ability to 'translate' analytic concepts, approaches and results for executive or lay audiences, and analytic interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate to small and/or large audiences (both internal and external to Catamaran). Experience in communicating to a senior management audience and ability to drive consensus on complex, controversial issues.
Demonstrated experience in planning and execution of complex reporting and analytic projects.
Strong commitment to customer service and ability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
Travel up to 25%
