Director of Pharmacy Ambulatory Care Services

Description: University of Chicago Medicine is in need of Director of Pharmacy Ambulatory Care Services right now, this position will be depute in Illinois. Directs and coordinates all pharmacy services for the University of Chicago Hospitals in accordance with established policies and standards as ! well as State and Federal laws. Provides oversight for the quality and cost effectiveness of services provided. Has fiscal responsibilities for all financial aspects of the Department of Pharmaceutical Services. Ensures that competent professionals are hired to provide comprehensive services.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. Education:
1. Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy.
2. Advanced Degree: Masters of Science, M.B.A., or Doctor of Pharmacy.
3. Completion of an ASHP General, Specialty, or Administrative Residency highly preferred.
4. Registered Pharmacist in the State of Illinois (or eligible).
B. Experience and Training:
1. 5-10 years of previous clinical, operations, and administration experience in a large teaching hospital, academic medical center, or consulting capacity.
2. Formal presentation, publications, and/or teaching experience preferred.
3. Demonstrated knowle! dge of personal computers. Experience with word processing, sp! read sheet, and data-base management programs required.
C. Information Processing: Approves the relevance or importance of information. Makes recommendations and some decisions to forward policy changes regarding drug therapy to medical staff committees, etc.
D. Scope of Responsibility: Defines departmental and residency or clinical program problems or objectives and recommends solutions.
E. Interpersonal Communication: Negotiates agreement among differing interests. Allocates pharmacy resources to support patients, medical and nursing staffs, and teaching programs.
