The individual will be responsible for the provision of academic detailing and
medication review services to ! the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family
Services (HFS).
Duties:
Assuring the completeness, accuracy and appropriateness of drug therapy for specific HFS clients,consulting with medical providers with respect to recommendations for improved patient medical therapy, documenting communications with providers, providing
interpretation of drug related information when requested and when appropriate,
and supervising the daily activities of supportive non-professional personnel .
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy, having completed a minimum of 5 years of scientific and clinically oriented professional instruction and one year's experience in a structured externship.
E xperience in community or managed care pharmacy practice preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to understand and apply pharmacotherapeutic principles to individual patient care situations thr! ough consult. Applicant must possess knowledge and skills such! that they qualify for an academic professional position in the Department of Pharmacy Practice,College of Pharmacy. Must present evidence of Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist.
