The Pharmac! y Technician, under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, performs licensed home infusion pharmacy functions including aseptic compounding.
Responsible for drug/equipment/supply distribution and pick-up.
Handles medical/hazardous waste and responsible for proper disposal.
Responsible for equipment cleaning and maintenance. Provides assistance and support for maintaining proper functioning of delivery vehicles and insuring pharmacy areas are clean and organized.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
·
Active Pharmacy Technician License in
Illinois
, or eligible to apply upon hire.
·
Past driving record allows inclusion as an insured driver on OSF Home Care's auto insurance policy, as evidenced by Motor Vehicle Report from IDOT. Abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty.

Pr! ovides own transportation and auto insurance and abides by all laws, rules and recommendations for safe driving while on duty.
Maintains a valid driver's license.

Within 90-day evaluation period, score 70% or better on Aseptic Preparation of Parenteral Products and Safe Handling of Cytotoxic and Hazardous Drugs competency tests.

Demonstrates ability to work independently and execute own workload.
·
Must be able to use and operate medical and/or office equipment.
·
Interpersonal skills for effective verbal and written communication.
·
Responsible for taking on-call on a rotating basis.
·
Expected to take night and weekend calls, and make home visits to patients during the evening, night, weekend and/or holiday hours as required.
