Rush University Medical Center presents an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assist! ant in Bone Marrow Transplant . The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant functions as a member of the healthcare team in collaboration with a physician. He/she provides direct care to patients as well as serving as a consultant, researcher, and educator. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant promotes collaboration between the multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Further Position Highlights:
Work independently to provide high quality care for bone marrow transplant patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Enjoy working in a collaborative, team-oriented setting with the Attending Physician, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Pharmacists, Psychologists, and Nutritionists.
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic health problems.
Orde! r, interpret, and perform laboratory and other diagnostic test! s.
Create constructive partnerships with peers, professional nurses, and other disciplines and departments to develop a patient management plan and provide optimal patient care.
Demonstrate strong communication skills with patient and significant others to provide feedback regarding findings and treatment plan.
Coordinate patient care activities with other members of the healthcare team, hospital, or community.
Utilize research and evidence-based practice to guide decision making.
Demonstrate advanced critical thinking in the care and management of patients.
Participate in process improvement projects.
Qualifications:
Current Illinois licensure as Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant.
Professional certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (or pending exam).
Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant educational program.
CPR certification requi! red.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to lead, teach, and interact effectively with healthcare personnel and families.
