Looking for candidates to interview ASAP. Job Summary: This position is NonExempt. Hours over 40 will be paid at Time and a Half. This position is for Patient Care Coordinator (PCC). Looking for strong customer service skills. Call center or physician's office. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, compounds and dispenses medical prescriptions. May be expected to perform some clerical duties relating to the department. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or supervisor. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This Position is for a Pharmacy Solutions Partner Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives: Serve as a single point of contact (ie. account manager) between the physician office staff and Pharmacy Solutions for the purpose of assuring the highest quality service to the office while minimizing the administrative burden. Serve as the single point of contact for all benefit verifications (BV), referral, and order information between physician office staff and Pharmacy Solutions exclusive of those clinical and professional interactions governed by regulations and professional practice standards. Major Responsibilities: Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system by Responsible for developing strong relations between assigned medical offices and Pharmacy Solutions by: 1. Serve as an account management liaison between the prescriber, medical office (MDO) staff, and Pharmacy Solutions responsible for all communications with the exception of those clinical duties described in operating procedures . 2. Monitor referral, order, prescription volume, work-in-process, turnaround times and other process and outcomes metrics for referrals and benefit investigations to assure that no service issues arise. 3. Work proactively with the Pharmacy Solutions operations staff to problem solve and mitigate patient access issues such as prior authorization, utilization management, pharmacy coordination, and denied coverage requests that may arise and communicate case status and next steps for issue resolution to MDO to ensure a productive relationship between the MDO staff and the Pharmacy. 4. Review patient benefit options with the MDO on an ad hoc and scheduled basis, including patient benefit coverage, necessary steps to obtain prior authorization and/or an appeal, financial assistance or identification of alternate forms of coverage. 5. Facilitate the relationship between the physician office staff and Pharmacy Solutions. Additional Notes: A new requirement was made by they government that all new techs applying after 2008 will be required to not only apply for their Pharmacy Technician license but will also be required to obtain an additional certification (techs prior to this date will be grandfather'd in). These costs should be paid for by the candidates, as this is still something they can take with them outside of Abbott. Rough costs are: Pharmacy Tech. license: $40 Pharmacy Tech. certification: $130 Shift: 10:30AM-7PM Location: Abbott Park, IL
