Job Summary Helps customers navigate the healthcare space and provide information regarding various healthcare related products and services. Maintains relevant and up-to-date knowledge about product and service offerings and educates customers about them. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, registering customers for Take Care and other services, assisting with Walgreens.com, scheduling appointments and making outbound calls to follow up after a healthcare visit. Recognize when to warm transfer customers to other areas of the healthcare space and the front end. Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Engage customers who are waiting for Take Care or Walgreen Pharmacy Services. Explain the wait time and keep patients abreast of their status. Encourage patients to participate in Patient Engagement Surveys. Assist Take Care patients with the check-in and registration. Provide assistance to customers with the Express Refill Pick-Up Kiosk as needed. Answer questions about the availability and location of OTC and other self -serve items and assist customers with locating and ordering items on Walgreens.com terminal. Greet customers and engage in active listening by using probing questions as well as verbal or non-verbal cues to identify the customer's needs. Make the customer aware of appropriate products or services such as auto-refill, express pay and health corner events. Determine when it is appropriate to hand off customer to a Pharmacist or assist with the check-in process to see a Nurse Practitioner. Answer questions about the availability of health care services. Exhibit knowledge about the Walgreens pharmacy, Take Care clinic, compounding, respiratory therapy, specialty pharmacy, home care services, DME and any other services covered by 1-800 WAG-YESS. Act as an educational resource and print off materials for patients as needed. Coordinate events within the Health Corner as a point-person to answer questions from the service providers, schedule events, contact registered attendees to confirm participation, check-in attendees on day of event and assist with facilitating events as needed. Serve as an ambassador for the new Healthcare experience by answering questions from customers and external visitors. Call local doctors and community organizations to generate awareness of the new Healthcare Experience, schedule tours, and offer use of the Health Corner for educational classes or services. Schedule future appointments in person or by phone for immunizations and other services such as MTM and make reminder calls. Provide non-medical customer services such as printing out individualized Insurance report from the pharmacy. Make outbound customer service calls, welcome new patients, thank patients, win back transfer-out patients, and follow-up on Take Care patient visits as directed by the nurse practitioner. Participate in company-provided training and become a specialist on the unique store characteristics as defined by the business such as DME or Diabetes. Provide expected customer service and accurately answer questions or ensure the customer speaks to the appropriate person in the Healthcare space. Basic Qualifications & Interests High School Diploma/GED and at least 2 years customer service experience as a pharmacy technician or related healthcare experience involving a patient-facing role required. License or certification as a Pharmacy Technician as required by the state of employment. Knowledge of the prescription drug industry, such as Medicare Part D, immunizations, etc. Basic Internet Explorer skills to include opening a browser, typing in URLs in the correct location, using a search engine, bookmarking a site, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and filling out forms online. Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary. Intermediate level keyboarding skills (at least 30 WPM, touch typing, formatting documents, 10-key numeric pad). Experience identifying/determining customer needs in order to make customer aware of appropriate service/product. Preferred Qualifications & Interests Fluency in Spanish and English as needed based on the store location
