Job Description:
Clinical Analyst

! This position is responsible for development and /or support of automated clinical processes and/or streamlining of existing clinical processes. Works to identify process inefficiencies and build automated and streamlined solutions that improve workflow efficiencies and accuracy of outputs. Support all clinical quality and process improvement efforts including but not limited to Medicaid and Commercial lines of business.

Assist with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of Medicare Part D, Medicaid and Commercial formularies, build and maintain ad hoc queries in internal reporting system as well as MS Access, analyze pharmacy utilization data trends.

Responsibilities:
Build, maintain and refine new or existing analytical models and database queries as appropriate

Anticipate, design, and measure solutions to facilitate the business and clinical needs of the Clinical team including qualitative and quantitative analysis

D! ata analysis and measurement of impact services, including financial and non-financial data, member surveys and regulatory compliance

Support Clinical Operations unit as needed

Participate in all Clinical management activities.

Produce required reports to internal partners and clients in required formats

Assist with all aspects of formulary-related clinical programs.

Continuously look for ways to streamline and improve the quality of the Clinical programs and processes

Perform other duties as necessary to meet the objectives of Catamaran and supporting clients and/or COE objectives

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of MediSpan data system including GPI drug classification system and or First Data Bank
Familiarity with prescription benefit, formulary and clinical program design.
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access and other analytic systems/! tools.

Extensive experience writing queries or using query-typ! e tools.

Extensive knowledge of data mining and database design and concepts.

Ability to create, update and manage databases containing pharmaceutical data.

Ability to clearly and effectively organize, display and present data to internal staff.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Strong customer service orientation and commitment to professionalism.

Education and Experience

B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field.
3-5 years practical experience
Previous PBM focused projects (e.g. formulary management, drug list management, clinical database design).
Excellent working knowledge of MS excel MS Access and SQL
Working knowledge of Medicare Part D regulations and experience a plus
Demonstrated history in understanding software lifecycle and quick deployment of applications
Three or more years! of heavy MS Access application development utilizing ODBC connections to the SQL Server
Strong background with T-SQL development of stored procedures, functions and triggers, and adhoc queries,
