We are currently searching for a Director of Pharmacy. The Director will provide leadership by modeling the organizations philosophy and values integrating our mission and vision into daily a! ctivities as well as future planning. In addition, he or she will dedicate management efforts toward collaboration, innovation and monitoring others by using a systems approach to continual improvement. The Director will be responsible for all pharmacy-related operations conducted according to hospital and department procedures, federal and state laws and regulations, licensing and accreditation standards to minimize legal liability and assure licensure and accreditation. Also, other primary responsibilities include plannin, organizing, directing, and coordinating functions of the Pharmacy Department in accord with Hospital policies, government rules and regulations, The Joint Commission guidelines and ethical pharmacy practice.
Our pharmacists are decentralized and they staff many different departments and service lines throughout the hospital. The electronic medical records system is Meditech. In addition, the pharmacy is using Pyxis MedStations and the main phar! macy has a C2 safe in order to store and track our controlled ! substances. Also, we have a Baxa compounding pump in our IV room. In addition, we offer a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency as well as a PGY2 Infectious Diseases residency program.
The successful Director of Pharmacy candidate must be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Masters or Doctor of Pharmacy degree along with three to five years of management experience as an Assistant Director or Director of Pharmacy. In addition, the candidate must be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Illinois and must maintain fifteen hours of continuing education per year to retain licensure. In addition, must have excellent knowledge of management and professional areas with the ability to lead department personnel toward agreed-upon goals using an organized approach. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of trends in pharmacy and plan for their development. Should be active in relevant professional organizations and maintain contact outside the! hospital at the state and national levels to keep abreast of health care developments. Salary 120-140k
