Medicare Formulary Pharmacist

This position manages the Part D formularies of Catamaran-maintained Medicare Part D formularies files (internal and! external) to ensure submission files meet requirements set forth by CMS.

Responsibilities
Produces and submits Part D Formularies, Prior Authorization (PA) criteria, Step Therapy (ST) Criteria and other utilization management (UM) restrictions Implements Part D formularies in claims systems Part D formulary change process and marketing materials Analysis of CMS plan finder issues Conducts utilization and cost analyses, drug utilization reviews and analyses Provides education to internal partners and external clients regarding specific Medicare formularies Supports Catamaran Pharmacy and Therapeutics on Medicare-related formulary fu! nctions Liaises to all internal departments on Medicare formul! ary issues Cross trains and supports Medication Therapy Management Services Dept, as needed Follows all policies and procedures related to job Performs other duties as assigned to meet corporate objectives, as needed Some travel may be required Exhibits compliant and ethical behavior in the performance of job responsibilities, including complying with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, HealthExtras Code of Conduct, Business Ethics Policies and Procedures and other policies and procedures applicable to position. Actively participates in HealthExtras Compliance and Ethics Program, including attending annual compliance and ethics training and reporting suspected violations of the law or HealthExtras policies and procedures via HealthExtras Procedures for Reporting Incidents of Possible Improper Employment Practices, Misconduct, or Improper Financial/Accounting Practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or doctorate of Pharma! cy (PharmD) Current state pharmacy license and 2+ years pharmacy practice experience in a managed care environment Experience in management of custom formularies Experience managing Medicare Part D formularies, strong analytical and problem solving skills, knowledge of drug coding systems and MediSpan and First DataBank (FDB) classification systems. Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, customer service, and computer skills required.
